INN 2023 provides daily coffee-breaks, included in the registration fee. Other than that, the lecturers have several options: at affordable prices, they can have lunch at the college’s canteen (floor 0 of Tower B), at the café/restaurant “Com Sabor”, located on the esplanade. Outside the college, there are many options along Av. de Berna.

In Tower B, you will find three “Student Spaces: two on the ground floor and one on floor 3, with desks, power outlets and, of course, wi-fi access.

In the Avenidas Novas area, where NOVA FCSH is located, you will find a wide cultural offer. We leave you some suggestions within 15m walking distance:

Specific information for speakers with papers

Each speaker has up to 15 minutes to make his or her presentation. Sessions with paper presentations last 1h30 minutes and include an average of five presentations, followed by 15 minutes for questions and discussion.

Yes. You can download here of the template available to create your communication support presentation. If you cannot download the zip file, ask us by e-mail ([email protected]) for the template in the desired format (.pptx or pdf).

It is desirable that you do this because this way we test the presentation and check that everything is okay in the 48 hours before the Congress starts. You can send your presentation to [email protected], mentioning the title and author’s name(s), until January 28th. If you are unable to do so, you must be present at the respective communication session 5 minutes before the start and hand in your communication to the moderator or volunteer who is providing support.

It can be in any format that protects the source used, such as pdf (or online). It is not recommended that you save the file as .ppt or .pptx because it may become unformatted when displayed on the computer in the room.

Each room has a computer already set up with all the presentations sent in advance and tested, with access to the projector. It is not recommended that you use your own computer for logistical reasons.

Specific information for lecturers with video communications

You must submit the video of your paper in .mp4 format by January 28, 2023. All speakers with video communications were sent a template and the INN 2023 logo (for optional use).

The maximum time is similar to that of communications: 15 minutes.

The video with your communication will be available on the event’s website under “video communications”.

All video communications are part of the communications programme and are included in a session. However, the video communication is only exhibited in the session itself if the author(s) guarantee(s) to be present via zoom in the session to be able to answer eventual questions from the audience in the period dedicated to the debate of the communications. Otherwise, the moderator only mentions the video communication, the authors, and the page where it is available and where the public can ask questions.

There are two options: either via zoom (see question above) or during the event, on the page where the video communications will be made available. Any participant in INN 2023 can ask questions or leave comments.

Specific information for artists with artistic residencies

Artist residencies that require a physical location will be concentrated in the spaces on the third floor of Tower B, where auditorium B2 and several conference host rooms are located.

Of course. On all days of the conference there are home visits, with presentation sessions, and they will be widely publicized throughout the event. There will also be short videos of each residency that will be made available on the event’s website.

Unfortunately, we cannot provide insurance for equipment. Artists should have insurance for their own equipment and remove at the end of each day equipment that may have financial value.
